# API Reference

Complete reference for the emSigner Core API, with live "Test it" requests against your chosen environment.

The emSigner Core API lets you add legally valid electronic and digital signatures to your applications: upload documents, initiate signing workflows, embed signing in your own UI, and track every document through to completion.

Start with Getting started to obtain an access token, then pick an environment under Environments & testing. Every endpoint page has a Test it button that sends a live request to the selected environment (Demo / Sandbox by default, or a custom base URL).
