# Pre-requisites and permissions setup

Learn how to configure and connect emSigner with Microsoft SharePoint to automate your document signing process.

### Pre-requisites and permissions setup

#### 1.Create a Client Secret (App Secret)

* Go to **Settings** in emSigner → **Integrations & Automation** → **Manage Connected Applications** → **Create App** → Provide an App name & generate secret key.

#### **2.Set Up SharePoint Environment**

Create the required **site**, **document library**, and **source/destination folders** where documents will be uploaded and stored.

#### **3.Prepare emSigner Template**

Ensure a fixed form template is available in your emSigner account with defined signature fields and workflow rules. If no fixed form template exists, you can create one from the **Templates** section in the left panel of the Dashboard.
