# Roles and Permissions

Role-based access control (RBAC) defines what actions users can perform within emSigner. Typical roles include administrators, document creators, signers, reviewers, and auditors. Permissions can be tailored to control document access, workflow configuration, reporting, and administrative functions, ensuring least-privilege access and governance compliance.
